Keeping Cool

Keeping cool and fit in hot weather can be difficult.   The fresh morning air is a joy to take in on a walk and benefit from some gentle exercise before the rest of the world gets going and the meltdown of the heat of the day.    Invigorates the system and stimulates the immune system.     Drink plenty of water to replenish the sweat secreted to remain hydrated throughout the day.    Avoid sitting in direct sunlight or risk wilting like a flower without water and becoming sluggish.   Wear light loose clothing to benefit from any welcome breeze.   Cover up or ensure adequate sunscreen is used and best applied half an hour prior to any exposure to the sun.   If a walk has not been managed during the day a gentle amble in the cool of the evening is always an enjoyable alternative – or maybe try both!
