VITAMIN D

VITAMIN D – As we near the end of winter our exposure to sunlight has been extremely limited.    Are you Vitamin D deficient???    What are the symptoms?  Feeling constantly tired? Depressed? Bone, joint or muscle pain? Persistent colds or flu?   Vitamin D comes from the sun so it is no surprise that in the UK one in five are low or deficient in this vitamin.  Of course Vitamin D bloods tests are available to determine your actual levels and what supplement you may require.    There are also certain groups of foods eg eggs, oily fish, fortified cereals, milks, and red meats which contain vitamin D but may not be adequate levels to raise a significant deficiency.  If you think you may be deficient contact the surgery.
